On Monday, July 26, 2010, PokerTableRatings.com published an article that exposed a serious security vulernability on Cake Poker.
Summary
* Cake Poker used weak encoding that left player's accounts and hole cards vulnerable to being stolen by a third party .
* Cake's website falsely stated that they use "256-bit TwoFish encryption".
* Players on an unsecured wireless network are especially vulnerable.
Update: Lee Jones, the poker room manager of Cake Poker, has confirmed the vulnerability. Lee said that they are "reprioritizing [their] software development schedule to put this [security vulnerability] at the top of the list."
Cake hasn't provided an official timeline on how quickly they'll be able to fix the vulnerability, but estimates range from several days to 2 weeks.
